My primary goal, whether in legal practice or public affairs advisory, is to provide practical and tailored solutions to clients by developing effective problem-solving strategies.

Miguel Caramello-Álvarez is a seasoned EU regulatory, competition lawyer and public affairs advisor with over 15 years of experience guiding international clients, trade associations, and public bodies through complex EU legal and policy challenges. His approach is rooted in delivering practical, tailored solutions through strategic problem-solving, whether in legal proceedings or public affairs advisory.

Miguel advises clients, among others, on Competition and State aid, EU and international rail transport law, foreign direct investment, foreign subsidies, public procurement, market access, and EU public policy. He represents clients before the European Commission, as well as national and international regulatory authorities.

Before joining Andersen, Miguel held senior roles in leading international law firms and trade associations in Brussels. Notably, he served as Chief Legal Officer of the Community of European Railways and Infrastructure Companies (CER), where he led legal and regulatory initiatives across the EU rail sector.

Miguel is also a Visiting Lecturer in EU Transport Policy at the European College of Parma, where he shares his practical experience and regulatory insight with postgraduate students. Miguel is admitted to the Bar in Brussels in 2019 (E-list) and in Pamplona, Spain in 2009.
