Aline Heyrman specialises in administrative law and public procurement law and in urban planning and environmental law.
Starting 2013, Aline has been active as a lawyer at the bar of Ghent, rst in the law firm Rika Heijse (2013-2016), where she specialised in administrative and public law in the broad sense, including public procurement law, expropriation, government liability, civil service law and disciplinary law.
Subsequently, Aline was active in Law firm Bienstman-Decloedt (now BDL&T), where she dedicated herself additionally to urban planning and environmental law (2017-2019).
In 2019 Aline joined Andersen in Belgium, where she devotes herself further to administrative and public law in the broad sense, including urban planning, environmental law and public procurement law.

On 1 June 2024, a new Flemish decree dated 8 March 2024, came into effect that provides for how real estate assets are disposed of and rights in rem are established and disposed of. The purpose of this decree is to create a sustainable, consistent and effective legal framework within which entities of the Flemish government can dispose of real estate assets, as well as establish and dispose of rights in rem. The main consequence of this decree is that from now on all Flemish public authorities and entities must comply with well-defined publicity obligations in connection with their public real estate transactions, whereas previously this was only the case for a more limited circle of authorities.

Since our last news items on the various changes to Flemish environmental law, there have been a number of new developments. In the meantime, the Collective Decree on Environment and the amendments to the Exemption Decree have been published in the Belgian Official Gazette and have largely entered into force, with a number of transitional arrangements.

For example, the Flemish Government recently ratified two new decrees that will introduce various changes to environmental law: the Collective Decree and the Decree on project decisions and modular environmental permits. Furthermore, an amendment to the Exemption Decree was previously announced.
