Always listening to the questions of those I work with, aiming to find, alongside them, the best-suited solution to resolve any difficulties: for every problem, there is one or more solutions!

Luc Herve obtained a law degree from the University of Liège in July 1989. He was sworn in at the Liège Bar on October 3, 1989 and began an internship at the firm Matray, Matray and Hallet in October 1989 (business law broadly). In parallel, he collaborated with the law firm Price and Partners (tax and corporate law) from March 1993 to June 1994. He was admitted to the Liège Bar Association on February 22, 1994.

Luc Herve obtained a Specialized Bachelor’s degree in Taxation and Business Law from Ghent University, Vlerick Business School, in 1991. He also earned a specialized degree in tax law from the University of Liège in 1995.

Luc Herve was a teaching assistant at the University of Liège in civil and contract law from 1989 to 1995, working under Professor Vanwijck-Alexandre. He became administrative secretary of the Law and Business Life Commission at the University of Liège from 1996 to 1999, in commercial law and company law, serving Professor Anne Benoit-Moury. He then became a research associate in tax law, working for Professor Parent from 2000. From November 1994 to August 1999, Luc Herve joined the law firm Loeff, Claeys, Verbeke in Liège (tax law, corporate law, and financial criminal law), in the “Corporate and Tax” unit. He was appointed senior associate at the end of 1998. From September 1999 to July 2002, he was a partner at the firm Bours et Associés in Liège. He then transferred his practice, focused primarily on tax and corporate law, to the law firm Elegis in Liège, as a Senior Partner, where he practiced until the end of December 2006.

In early 2007, Luc Herve founded the Herve Law Firm in Liège, where he is a partner and director. The firm has several associates and specializes in tax law, corporate law, commercial law, estate planning, contract law, and white-collar crime. The firm has held a prominent position in these areas for nearly twenty years.

In September 2026, Luc Herve embarked on a new chapter in his career, joining Andersen in Belgium as Partner in charge of the Beaufays-Liège office.

At the University of Liège, Luc Herve was appointed Lecturer in Tax Law by Professor Bourgeois in 2010. In 2015, he was selected by the Faculty of Law to join the faculty part-time as a Lecturer in Tax Law. There, he teaches interdisciplinary subjects, including corporate law and tax law, within the framework of the Master of Specialization in Tax Law (Tax Institute) and the Master of Specialization in Notarial Law. He is also a Lecturer at HEC-Liège and a Professor at ICHEC-ESSF in Brussels. He also taught for twenty years at CBCEC Liège and for several years at EPHEC in Brussels.

He is the author of numerous publications in the form of monographs, articles, and notes on tax law, corporate law, and civil law. He has received several awards (Tschoffen, Journal des Tribunaux, Commission Barreau/Notariat à Liège). He regularly speaks at scientific conferences and seminars. He is a member of the editorial board of the Belgian Tax Letter and a contributor/editor to the Liège, Mons, and Brussels Jurisprudence Review (JLMB). He was a long-time contributor to the Revue Générale d’Enregistrement et du Notariat (RGEN). At the Liège-Huy Bar, Luc Herve was a member of the Liège Bar Association’s Free Conference (director of proceedings 1999/2000 – keynote speaker 2002, 2001/2003). He chaired the Bar/Business Commission, of which he is still a member. He was elected to the Bar Council. Luc Hervé served in Liège during the judicial years 2017 to 2019. He is a recognized specialist in tax law and corporate law.

He is an accredited mediator in civil, commercial, and social matters. He is also the principal French-speaking legal assessor to the Disciplinary Committee and the Appeals Committee of the ITAA (Institute of Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisors), where he handles disciplinary matters.
