Buildings & Sustainability Manager

Marie-Anne Theodoroudis holds a Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering.
After her studies, she worked for two years at the architecture firm ‘Licence to Build’, which specializes mainly in the construction of school buildings within the SVM programme (“Scholen voor Morgen”). There, she gained significant experience as a junior project manager, overseeing projects from concept to technical design, including execution drawings and on-site supervision.
She then worked for five years at ‘Tractebel Engineering Engie’, where she further developed her skills as an engineer. She acted as project manager for various BIM (Building Information Modeling) projects, both for new constructions and existing tertiary buildings. In addition, she obtained BREEAM certifications, conducted energy audits of industrial buildings, and delivered energy-efficient solutions. This experience clearly shaped her future career in sustainability.
Today, she serves as Buildings and Sustainability Manager at Andersen in Belgium, combining her expertise as an architectural engineer with a strong focus on energy performance and sustainable construction. She translates technical knowledge into concrete solutions that make buildings more efficient, future-proof and high-performing, with attention to design, execution and long-term sustainable use.

Sustainability claims have become an essential part of how companies communicate with consumers, as consumers increasingly expect transparency not only about environmental impact, but also about ethical and social aspects. At the same time, regulators are paying closer attention to vague or misleading claims related to sustainability performance and impacts. Against this backdrop, the European Union has adopted Directive (EU) No. 2024/825 on empowering consumers for the green transition (ECGT).
